Privacy Statement
TrueSim B.V. is responsible for the processing of personal data as explained in this privacy statement. In this privacy statement, we refer to 'TrueSim' or 'we'.

1. Personal data we process
TrueSim processes your personal data because you use our website, the TrueSim application, the TrueSim web application and/or other services and/or products, and/or because you or your employer provide this data to us.
2. We process the following personal data
- First and last name;
- Gender;
- (Work) email address;
- Address of Customers;
- Telephone numbers of Customer contact persons;
- Company name and job title;
- (Progress) data relating to the trainings in the TrueSim application and the TrueSim web application;
- Invoicing and payment details;
- IP addresses;
- Click and browsing behaviour;
- Username and password for the TrueSim application and the TrueSim web application.
3. For which purposes and on which legal bases do we process personal data?
a. In the context of the performance of an agreement between TrueSim and you and/or TrueSim and your employer
- To be able to contact you;
- To be able to respond to your questions;
- To deliver our services and products, including the (trainings via the) TrueSim application and the TrueSim web application;
- To offer you the possibility to access your user account and trainings in the TrueSim application and the TrueSim web application;
- So that you and/or your employer can manage training and progress data in the TrueSim web application.
b. Because TrueSim has a legitimate interest in doing so
- To be able to contact you;
- To be able to respond to your questions;
- To inform you about all our services and products;
- To optimise our services by conducting, among other things, satisfaction surveys / evaluations of trainings.
c. Because you have given TrueSim consent to process your personal data
This concerns cases in which we have asked for your explicit consent to process your personal data and you have given this consent, such as – but not limited to – the placement of tracking and/or marketing cookies.
If we process your personal data on the basis of your consent, you always have the right to withdraw that consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to the withdrawal of your consent.
d. Processing of personal data because it is required by law
- In the context of the statutory record-keeping obligation (Article 2:10 of the Dutch Civil Code) or other legal obligations;
- In the event of an order from the police, a court and/or another government body.
If you do not provide us with the information we need for the purposes mentioned above, this may have consequences for your relationship with us. For example, we may then be unable to respond to your requests or to perform the agreement.
4. How long do we retain personal data?
TrueSim does not retain personal data longer than necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data is collected, or for the duration based on a statutory retention period.
We will also delete your data if you request this yourself.
The aforementioned retention periods do not apply if there is a statutory exception, or if we need this data for a longer period for the provision of our services or in the event of a dispute.
5. With whom do we share personal data?
We provide your personal data to third parties in the following cases.
We only provide personal data to your employer if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement with your employer and/or because TrueSim has a legitimate interest in doing so (for example – but not limited to – the performance of the agreement with your employer). In obtaining your (progress) data, your employer has a legitimate interest in being able to guide you in your further (work-related) development.
We provide your personal data to service providers we engage for the purpose of delivering our services and products. With companies that process data on our behalf, we conclude (where required) a data processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of personal data.
In principle, we do not provide your personal data to parties established outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If this does happen, we ensure that your personal data remains protected by taking appropriate safeguards, including the use of standard contractual clauses as drawn up by the European Commission.
Legal obligation
We share personal data if we believe that disclosure of the data is necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, legal proceedings or requests from government authorities.
Social media
TrueSim can be found on various social media. We may use your personal data when you use features on these websites and/or applications, such as a "Facebook like". If such a feature is used by you, we may obtain your personal data via the social medium in question.
Hyperlinks
If you are redirected from our website to a third-party website, your personal data may be processed by these third parties. For the use of third-party websites, we refer you to the privacy statements of the third parties concerned.
6. How is personal data secured?
We will take all reasonable organisational and technical security measures to secure your personal data and to protect it against loss and improper use or alteration. These include – but are not limited to – the following measures:
Third parties that store the personal data on their servers on behalf of TrueSim hold an ISO 27001 certification;
The TrueSim application and the TrueSim web application work with unique and authenticated login codes that are refreshed with each login.
Hand-tracking data generated during use of the TrueSim application is processed solely locally on the device (the headset) to enable the interactions within the application. This data is not stored, collected or transmitted to our servers or to third parties by TrueSim.

TrueSim uses cookies on its website and in the TrueSim web application. For more information, TrueSim refers to its Cookie Statement.
8. What are your rights?
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to object to, or request restriction of, the processing of your personal data by TrueSim.
You also have the right to data portability. Data portability means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold about you in a computer file to you or to another party.
You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data portability, restriction of or objection to the processing, or your request to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data, to info@truesim.com.
You can also contact us if you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, or you can unsubscribe from our newsletter using the 'unsubscribe' button at the bottom of the emails you receive from us.
To ensure that a request has been made by you, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but in any event within four weeks.
If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data by TrueSim, please let us know. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the privacy supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that may have (significant) consequences for individuals. This concerns decisions made by computer programs or systems without human involvement (for example, a TrueSim employee).
10. Job applicants
TrueSim collects and processes data from job applicants that is relevant to the application procedure, such as information about the applicant's level of education and employment history. TrueSim processes this data because it has a legitimate interest in being able to assess whether the applicant's qualities match the job description.
Personal data we receive in the context of an application procedure will be deleted no later than 4 weeks after the end of the procedure, unless the applicant requests earlier deletion.
If the application procedure leads to an employment contract, the personal data will be retained for as long as necessary. For information on the processing of employees' personal data, please refer to the internal regulations.
11. Changes to this privacy statement
TrueSim reserves the right to amend this privacy statement from time to time. The most recent version is published at www.truesim.com.
